Haw River Trail

Monday was exploring day. Scott, Skip, and I, walked along the beautiful trails next to the Haw River near the old Glencoe Textile mill. We found our son Ben and girl friend Heather enjoying the day as well. Sadly Scott and Ben caught no fish, but Skip was happy with a dip in the river. Wonderful picnic site.

Hawaiian Cruise

Freezing to death to see sunrise on volcanic crater!

My latest travel was to Hawaii. I went with my mother and college grad daughter on a Norwegian cruise to the Islands of Oahu, Hawaii, Kuai, and Maui. My daughter and I particularly enjoyed the action excursions she and I took together. We went snorkling, hiked up a crater at sunrise, and did an eco-challenge with zipline tour, rock climbing, bungy swing, and repelling. The 3 of us enjoyed some beautiful gardens and site seeing trips as well as a Luau. Our only problem was we booked too many tours and needed more down time.

I’m working part time since returning, but I’m already planning my next sabatical. I was recently off from Sept 08 to March 09 during the recent economic melt down. I was learning to trade stock options (puts naturally during that time). I am looking at some travel possibilities such as Western Mexico with husband, college age children, and their significant others for spring. Our 30th anniversary is next June and the two of us would like to visit the southern coast of Spain.

Father’s Day was a blast! My husband Scott spent 2 days researching the ulimate rub and BBQ sauce for his baby back ribs. Friend from Richmond, a notorious foody, was in awe of the dedication to the grilling process! End result was the best ribs ever! Scott’s new name “The Ribbinator”
